MYOB’s regional hub and call centre in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, 17 March 2008 - MYOB Asia Sdn Bhd (ASX: MYO) a leading international provider of business solutions, has developed and delivered award-winning software, services and support for more than 700,000 businesses and over 10,000 accounting practices worldwide. Focusing on the growth and progress of the Asia Pacific region, MYOB has chosen Malaysia to locate its Regional Headquarters, including product development, sales and marketing and its regional call centre.
Malaysia: The Regional Hub
With its head office located at Technology Park Malaysia and additional facilities at Kelana Jaya, MYOB currently employs over 200 employees in Malaysia. The Regional Hub has been designed to be a collaborative office, featuring workspaces conducive for creative interaction and discussion. As part of its efforts for continuous quality services, the Malaysian team will be able to provide partners, direct sales team, and off-site clients with solutions aimed at maximizing benefits for both current and potential clients throughout the region. To ensure the consistency and the standard of the services, there will be extensive ongoing training and call management/knowledge base solutions.
Overseeing the centre’s operation is Paul Jennings, General Manager of MYOB Asia. He brings with the role a strong understanding of the cultural background and internal operations of the various countries in Asia Pacific. Paul joined MYOB in 2003, following an extensive career with Duracell and Iomega in the Asian regions.

MYOB’s business in Malaysia has grown considerably over the last 18 month, via their core business and through new ventures such as their MYOB Accountants Resourcing business, MYOB is looking to continue this impressive growth through the continued investment in people, resources and marketing as well as through strategic acquisitions and investments.
Posting the Right Figures
The company’s revenue from continuing operations of $205.6 million for the year ended 31 December 2007 was up by 13% compared with 2006. The combined effect of strong revenue growth and good expense management saw MYOB achieve an EBITDA margin of 37.8% after investments in its start-up portfolio (China operations and Accountants Resourcing). This is up from 35.2% last year.
The Asian business saw a huge leap in revenue with a 41% growth while Europe reported revenue growth of 16% and New Zealand with 13% increase respectively.
This trend is expected to pick up as there is a huge market for MYOB’s solutions with the proliferation of SMBs and SMEs, notably in the South East Asian countries. MYOB will continue their investments in branding and distribution in these countries to enable the software provider gain a deeper foothold in the region.
As one of the first to recognize the unique needs of small-to-medium-sized enterprises, MYOB’s solutions are aimed at alleviating the ever increasing administrative burden while giving business owners the necessary insights to run their businesses more successfully.
MYOB began as a software and software re-publisher in the Asian Pacific region. The success in being able to empower business owners was recognised through the progressive growth of clients and revenue.
