Hitachi Appoints Biznet & Springlab

Leading providers of storage solutions affirms commitment in the local market

KUALA LUMPUR, November 27 2007 — Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), announced today the appointment of Business Network Alliance Sdn Bhd (BNA) and Springlab Distribution Sdn Bhd as distributors in Malaysia. Under this agreement, Springlab and BNA will distribute the full range of Hitachi Data Systems storage solutions.

As HDS reaffirms their leading position, these partnerships will further strengthen HDS’ position amongst the commercial and telecommunications sector as well the government and government linked companies (GLC). Following recent reports, this alliance will be significant for HDS as there have been positive development within the Information Communication Technology (ICT) and electronics industries in Malaysia. As information continues to grow relentlessly, storage solutions is the key driver in Malaysia’s ICT growth. Recent reports by IDC showed that the storage solutions sector growing at an average of 20% per quarter. In addtion, IDC expects this trend to remain significant, as long as customer organizations continue to add storage capacity at record levels.
