HINO Motors Focuses on Safety and Comfort in 5th Generation of Buses

Three new buses set the stage for greater driver-passenger experience

KUALA LUMPUR, 28th February 2008
- Hino Motors (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., the leading light, medium and heavy vehicle manufacturer for the 17th consecutive year has today introduced its new generation of buses, model RM1ESKU, RK1JSLL and XZU423RD1. These latest buses are expected to set new standards in the following areas:

Safety. Comfortability. Environment. Economical. Profitability.

In terms of safety, these buses will offer even better ride handling and vehicle stability as the rear suspension has been given a wider setup while an additional shock absorber and rear stabilizer have also been added. Besides widening the rear suspension, Hino has also widen the driver’s view through a substantial reduction in the “dead angle”, while the passengers will also enjoy improvement in this area due to the low sitting position of the driver. The braking system will now be equipped with a hydraulic retarder to secure stronger braking force while Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) will also be offered for more effective braking under varying road conditions.

Hino’s effort in suspension upgrades have also paid off with greater ride comfort through major improvements made in roll stability and shock absorption. Inside the buses, space saving techniques has made it possible for increased passenger capacity without compromising on individual space as its passengers get to enjoy a quiet ride due to lowered noise emission by these new buses.

Three New Buses for the Masses
Hino’s bus model, RM1ESKU operates on a EURO 3 certified engine pumping out 390 hp and 1952 nm of torque. This model will be fitted with a hydraulic retarder and ABS for effective braking and will seamlessly handle a loading capacity of 18,000kg.

Also in the fray, Hino’s bus model RK1JSLL which runs on EURO 2 certified engines comes equipped with full air brakes that will provide strong braking response - most effective when traveling on slippery surfaces. The RK also comes with a bigger power package with 250 hp & 745 nm of torque and a load capacity of 16,000kg.

The third model, XZU423RD1 is equipped with an electrical common rail system, bigger horsepower of 155 hp & higher torque of 398 nm. Bigger load capacity (8,300 kg) and luggage area will also give passengers the opportunity to bring more in one single journey. Compared to previous series of buses, this model has passed and has been certified as EURO 3 compliant in terms of emission standards.

All three models come standard with diesel engines.

Going Green with Hino Motors
Hino utilizes engines that are proven for its environmental friendly gas emission standard namely, EURO 3 for RM & XZU and EURO 2 for RK. These vehicles are economical & profitable in the long run; proven for its durability, long life, less down time and most of all, low maintenance. The European (EURO) Emission requirements for heavy vehicles, introduced in the late 1980s is an internationally recognized emission standard that strives to address the issues of global warming by reducing the detrimental effects of vehicles emissions in today’s global automotive industry.

Hino Motors has set its sight on 500 sales unit of these new buses for the fiscal year 2008 (April 2008 – March 2009).
