From Tradition to Science
Malaysia’s first integrated wellness centre is opening in Starhill, Kuala Lumpur
KUALA LUMPUR, 31 October 2007 – Officially announced during the signing ceremony between Integrated Wellness Centre and Starhill Gallery, IWC will be open to public soon. Spanning over 2,500 sq feet, this centre provides alternative treatments that are based on Traditional Chinese Medicinal (TCM) values, combining the cutting edge scientific approach.
Developed over the span of several thousands of years, TCM is a range of traditional medical processes. This practise is based on a theory that takes into consideration of the various processes within the human body, which are interrelated to the interactions made with the environment.
There have been assumptions that the introduction of such treatment is not up to the medical principles, however in IWC all products and services have been gone through a stringent of laboratory and clinical tests. For those seeking treatment on men’s or women’s wellness, this centre located on the Pamper Zone of Starhill, has residential specialists flown in directly from China for each of its services. Other services that IWC covers include acupuncture, sports related injuries and the internal diagnosis of the human body.
In addition, IWC carries a full range of nutraceuticals. However, these supplements can only be obtained through a prescription made by one of IWC’s specialists. These prescriptions come in the form of tablets or as herbal preparation prepared by an IWC representative with dosages issued according to the patient’s specific health needs.
The Malaysian government already plans to incorporate traditional medicine as complementary healthcare within three government hospitals next year. Plus, in recent reports Malaysians are expected to spend more than RM1billion on traditional and complementary medicines in 2020.
